Strategic Advisory
OUR SERVICE
The gap in neurodivergent support is not always at the family level.
Confidential advisory for organisations seeking to build something that actually works.
What Strategic Advisory Looks Like
Luma’s Strategic Advisory service brings the same depth of expertise that we apply in private households to the organisations and institutions that shape the landscape around neurodivergent individuals. Schools, family offices, and governments all face versions of the same challenge: how to build support systems that work in practice, not just on paper.

FOR FAMILY OFFICES
Neurodivergent considerations in family advisory
Family offices are increasingly asked to consider neurodivergent needs as part of long-term family planning — from educational structure and capacity planning to governance, independence, and transition to adulthood. Most advisory teams are not resourced to provide this specialist layer, and most principals would not expect them to be.
Luma partners with single and multi-family offices and their advisors to fill that gap — providing discreet, expert advisory that ensures a family’s most complex needs are understood and planned for alongside their financial and legal affairs.
Luma does not provide legal or financial advice. Where neurodivergent considerations intersect with legal or financial matters, we work alongside the relevant advisors to ensure they have the context they need.
Engagements may include:

Advisory on next-generation planning where neurodivergent needs affect capacity, governance, or succession

Guidance on how to structure support around a neurodivergent beneficiary at different life stages

Briefing for advisory teams on neurodivergent considerations in family governance and communication

Introduction to specialists where clinical, educational, or legal input is required

Ongoing advisory as a retained partner to the family office, available when questions arise

FOR SCHOOLS & UNIVERSITIES
Building SEN provision that meets the standard families expect
Independent and international schools increasingly encounter families who expect a higher standard of neurodivergent provision than many institutions are currently equipped to deliver. The gap between what a school promises at open day and what it provides in practice is one of the most common sources of family dissatisfaction — and one of the most avoidable.
Luma works with school leadership, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to close that gap — through honest assessment of current provision, practical framework development, and staff training that is built around the reality of how schools actually work.
At university level, the challenge is different but related. Disability services offices are often compliance-led, under-resourced, and disconnected from the academic and pastoral structures that actually shape a student’s experience. We work with universities to build coordination and follow-through into the support infrastructure, rather than treating disability support as a standalone administrative function.
Engagements typically include some combination of:

An honest assessment of current SEN provision — policy, practice, and the gap between them

Framework development for SENCO teams and pastoral leaders

Bespoke staff training on neurodivergence, emotional regulation, and consistent support

Guidance on communicating with and supporting UHNW families specifically

Review of how clinical and external recommendations are being implemented in practice

Ongoing advisory to school or university leadership on specific cases or systemic questions

FOR GOVERNMENTS & POLICY BODIES
Building neurodivergent support infrastructure from the ground up
In many markets — particularly across the GCC and parts of Asia — neurodivergent support infrastructure is in its early stages. The specialist expertise, culturally appropriate frameworks, and systemic coordination required to serve families well at a national level is significantly underdeveloped. The families who need it most are navigating systems that were not designed with them in mind.
Luma works with government ministries, quasi-government bodies, and policy advisors to develop the frameworks and provision that will serve all families — not only the wealthy. This includes advisory across education, healthcare, and public services, with a focus on bringing proven international expertise and adapting it thoughtfully for local cultural and social contexts.
Government and policy engagements are subject to additional review before any commitment is made. Please contact us to discuss your specific context and objectives.
Policy and government engagements typically involve:

Landscape assessment — current provision, critical gaps, and international comparators

Framework and policy recommendations, developed collaboratively with local stakeholders

Staff and professional training programmes for public sector teams

Stakeholder engagement and communication strategy

Ongoing advisory through the implementation phase
